Create a course, workshop or training

There are various options for courses and workshops where when purchasing a product, a customer immediately becomes an entire series/course/education.

To set up a course (automatically adding a participant to a session series when purchasing a product), it is important to decide whether a customer can enroll:

In this article, the tips & tricks describe when a customer can only register for the beginning of the series:

1. Create product (ride card/session card)

Create a product (ride card or turn card) via Products, note the following settings:

  1. Make sure that the amount of credits is equal to the number of sessions.

  2. Please note that the validity of the product is at least as long as the duration of the course.

  3. Set at "Visibility" that the product can only be sold via the booking module, see below:

2. Create activity (course/workshop/education)

Then create a group activity.

1. Activate belowBooking settings the possibility that a Customer is automatically added to a series and then the option that this is only possible at the beginning of the series:

2. It is then important to link the right product to the activity, so that you can follow the course activity with the right product, for example with the name "Course" (which you created in step 1).

3. Schedule a course in Calendar

After the activity has been created, you can start planning the Course in the Calendar. Make sure that you enter the number of sessions in the "Repeat until" field, which is equal to the product you have just created for the course (NB: A course with 10 sessions = a product with 10 credits).

4. Have customers book a course

  • Via your own app: you can book the course via Planning in the app

  • Through your website: one possibility is that the activity becomes integrated on your website

  • Via promo page: you can copy the link via Activities > options button at the Activity > Promo page and share it with customers so that customers can register for the course:

After purchasing the product, the customer is automatically added to the entire course.

Nice to know

  1. In case a customer can only register at the beginning of the course, there is no option for a waiting list.

  2. If there is a deviating session during the course, a session linked to the session series (course) will have to be individually changed to the correct day/time.

  3. If a customer already has a product and wants to register for a session of the activity, the customer will not be added automatically. It only applies when purchasing a product. In this case, you can add the customer to the series as an employee.

  4. Unsubscribe: The customers can unsubscribe from a single session, but not from the entire course. This can only be done through an employee, just like the possible refund of the course fee.
